- 18:17Nvidia launches NVQLink interconnect system to integrate AI supercomputing with quantum computingJinse Finance reported, citing The Wall Street Journal, that although Nvidia (NVDA.O) has not independently developed a quantum computer, CEO Jensen Huang is betting that the company will play a key role in the future development of this technology. In his keynote speech at the GTC conference held in Washington, he officially launched the NVQLink interconnect system—a technology that can connect quantum processors with the AI supercomputers required for their efficient operation. "NVQLink is the 'Rosetta Stone' connecting quantum and classical supercomputers," Huang stated. Quantum processors represent a completely new computing paradigm, leveraging the principles of quantum physics to solve problems that traditional computers cannot crack, demonstrating enormous potential in fields ranging from scientific exploration to financial modeling. However, to realize their commercial value, quantum processors must be integrated with high-performance classical computers: the latter execute computations that quantum devices cannot complete and correct their inherent errors—a process known as "error correction." Tim Costa, General Manager of Nvidia's Industrial Engineering and Quantum Division, admitted that existing connection solutions have failed to meet the speed and scale requirements needed for rapid, large-scale error correction. Nvidia claims that its new interconnect technology is the first solution capable of fulfilling the promise of large-scale quantum computing.
