About Stellar (XLM)

About Stellar

Stellar (XLM) stands as a decentralized blockchain platform that is designed to process transactions in a fast, secure, and cost-effective manner. Initially starting out as a fork of the Ripple protocol, Stellar swiftly grew into an autonomous venture, boasting its own distinctive design and objectives.

Overseeing the development and promotion of the Stellar network is the Stellar Development Foundation with a mission to bridge the gaps between individuals, businesses, and financial institutions across the globe, particularly for those who are underserved by conventional banking systems. A remarkable step was taken in January 2023 when the Stellar Development Foundation asserted a claim of US$13 million against Genesis.

Unlike numerous other blockchain networks, Stellar distances itself from energy-intensive mining operations. Instead, it harnesses the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP), a federated consensus mechanism, to authenticate and validate transactions. This consensus protocol enhances Stellar's efficiency and ecological friendliness, aligning harmoniously with its vision to provide accessible and effective financial services to all.

Official website: https://www.stellar.org/

How Does Stellar Work?

- Consensus Mechanism: Stellar operates on a federated Byzantine agreement system called the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP). This consensus mechanism enables nodes (Stellar validators) to agree on the validity of transactions in a decentralized manner. The process involves a series of voting rounds until a consensus is reached, allowing for secure and fast transaction settlements.

- Anchors and Issued Assets: Stellar's architecture allows the representation of various assets on the network. These assets can include cryptocurrencies, fiat currencies, commodities, or even custom tokens. To bring external assets onto the Stellar network, entities known as "anchors" act as trusted intermediaries. Anchors facilitate the deposit and withdrawal of assets on and off the network, enabling seamless integration between the traditional financial system and the Stellar blockchain.

- Decentralized Exchange (DEX): Users can trade various assets directly on the Stellar network, thanks to the platform's native decentralized exchange capabilities. This feature increases liquidity and enhances the efficiency of asset conversion, making it convenient for users to exchange one asset for another without relying on external exchanges.

- Smart Contracts and Custom Tokens: While Stellar is not primarily known for complex smart contracts like Ethereum, it does offer simple, programmable features that can be used to execute specific operations automatically. Additionally, Stellar supports the creation of custom tokens, which allows users to issue their own digital assets on the network. These custom tokens can represent anything from loyalty points to securities, expanding the platform's utility and potential use cases.

What Is XLM Token?

The Stellar network's native cryptocurrency is called XLM (Stellar Lumens). XLM plays a crucial role in the Stellar ecosystem, serving as a bridge currency to facilitate asset exchanges and cross-border transactions.

Primary Functions of XLM:

- Transaction Fees: XLM is used to pay for transaction fees on the Stellar network. When users perform operations like sending payments or trading assets, a small amount of XLM is burned (removed from circulation) as a fee for using the network.

- Anti-Spam Measure: The nominal transaction fees in XLM serve as an anti-spam mechanism to prevent the network from being flooded with unnecessary or malicious transactions.

- Liquidity Bridge: XLM acts as a liquidity bridge between different assets on the Stellar network. When trading one asset for another, XLM can serve as an intermediary, making asset conversions more seamless.

- Stellar Community Incentives: In the early days of Stellar, XLM was distributed through various programs and partnerships to bootstrap the network and create a thriving community of users and developers.

What Determines Stellar's Price?

The Stellar (XLM) price today is influenced by a myriad of internal and external factors that interact in complex ways. One of the primary internal factors is Stellar's utility in facilitating low-cost, cross-border transactions. The Stellar network uses its native digital currency, Lumens (XLM), to act as a bridge for quick and efficient currency exchange, thereby affecting the current Stellar value.

Thanks to the Stellar Consensus Protocol (SCP), the network offers high speed and low transaction fees, setting it apart from other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. As of September 2023, the Stellar market cap is currently around $3.3 billion. This reflects its utility and adoption, factors that in turn directly impact the Stellar coin value and its price history.

External factors also play a significant role in determining the Stellar cryptocurrency price. Market sentiment, often gauged through Stellar price analysis and Stellar price prediction models, can drive fluctuations in the Stellar trading price. Partnerships with financial institutions and other organizations can significantly influence the Stellar XLM price forecast. For instance, Stellar's collaboration with Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation for a central bank digital currency (CBDC) has made waves in the industry.

Additionally, macroeconomic trends affecting the cryptocurrency market at large—such as regulatory news or significant price changes in other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin—can impact the Stellar real-time price. Investors often consult the Stellar price chart and Stellar price history to make informed decisions. They keep an eye on Stellar price trends and Stellar 2023 price prediction models to gauge Stellar's future performance.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Stellar's decentralized blockchain platform, driven by the Stellar Consensus Protocol, ensures fast, affordable transactions without energy-intensive mining. With its focus on financial inclusion and XLM as a bridge currency, Stellar has the potential to revolutionize the financial landscape, fostering global accessibility and liquidity.

It's important to note that like any other cryptocurrencies, Stellar carries its own risks and it's always wise to do your own research and exercise caution while investing.

$GRVT US Bank has chosen Stellar for its USBDC stablecoin, with asset freezing, clawback functionality and compliance requirements among the reasons behind the decision. Information shared by Tokenicer points to a network choice driven by the operational needs of regulated banking. The bank’s head of digital assets explained the selection in the discussion referenced by Tokenicer. Moving past the proposal stage, US Bank has already put USBDC through a live cross-border pilot that involved its entities in both the US and the EU. US Bank’s Stellar stablecoin choice puts compliance first Asset freezing and clawback functionality featured among the reasons US Bank selected Stellar for its stablecoin. The decision brings the network into the bank’s distributed ledger technology plans. For regulated banks, blockchain selection involves requirements that differ from those of many retail crypto projects. Compliance obligations, along with processes for handling disputed transactions and certain security incidents, influence which network capabilities matter. Tokenicer’s commentary highlights that divide. Many crypto users view freezing and clawbacks as centralized controls; banks can instead assess those features against their operational duties. In this case, the bank’s digital assets head identified those controls alongside compliance as reasons for choosing Stellar. US Bank is among the largest banks in the United States, according to Tokenicer’s post. Its selection gives Stellar a specific institutional use case within a major bank’s technology plans. USBDC crosses borders in a live pilot The USBDC cross-border pilot involved US Bank’s US and EU entities. That live test establishes practical use beyond the conceptual stage, but does not by itself establish a wider commercial rollout. The distinction also matters when assessing the relationship between US Bank’s stablecoin on Stellar and the network’s native token. USBDC and $XLM are separate assets: activity in the stablecoin does not automatically create additional demand for $XLM. The concrete development is the bank’s combination of network selection and cross-border testing: Stellar is part of its distributed ledger plans, and USBDC has been used in a live pilot between its US and EU entities.

$GRVT The digital asset market is undergoing a transformation driven by regulatory pressure, institutional investment, and the development of new blockchain applications. In his analysis, YouTuber Crypto Sensei examines trends that could fuel a new crypto supercycle, with particular attention to asset tokenization, stablecoins, and artificial intelligence. However, the industry’s growth potential coexists with project failures, tax uncertainty, and financial risks that make it essential to distinguish between real opportunities and speculative expectations. Market Consolidation and the Outlook for a Supercycle Industry consolidation is one of the major challenges facing the crypto sector in 2026. Crypto Sensei’s analysis cites the closure of at least 82 crypto projects during the year, reportedly driven by weak demand, insufficient revenue, and security vulnerabilities. This figure should be cross-checked against an independent statistical source before being presented as definitive. Nevertheless, the long-term survival of crypto projects increasingly depends on their practical utility, financial sustainability, and ability to attract users. Against this backdrop, forecasts suggesting that total crypto market capitalization could reach $12 trillion to $15 trillion represent an optimistic scenario rather than a guaranteed outcome. Such growth would depend on institutional capital inflows, expanding international markets, and increased adoption of tokenized assets. One concrete development is Bitwise’s NEAR ETF, trading under the ticker NRR, which provides exposure to the asset and incorporates staking rewards. The investment manager has also highlighted the growth of NEAR Intents, infrastructure designed to facilitate transactions across different blockchain networks. These developments demonstrate growing interest in expanding blockchain utility, although they do not guarantee future token appreciation. Tether, International Sanctions, and Rising Tax Pressure Stablecoin regulation has become another central issue in the crypto debate. A report by the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, led by Senator Richard Blumenthal, examined the alleged use of USDT in financial networks linked to Iran and sanctioned entities. The investigation raises questions about the controls governing digital asset transactions and their potential use to circumvent financial restrictions. However, the report’s allegations must be distinguished from a judicial ruling establishing criminal liability on the part of the company. Tether has publicly defended its cooperation with law enforcement agencies and its efforts to freeze wallets associated with illicit activity. The company argues that these interventions demonstrate how stablecoins can be incorporated into financial monitoring systems. The case highlights a fundamental tension: stablecoins facilitate fast international transfers, but they also require effective safeguards to prevent financial abuse. In Europe, taxation adds another layer of uncertainty. France’s debate over the tax treatment of certain cryptoasset and stablecoin transactions requires careful examination of the relevant budget amendments and their final legislative status. The 31.4% tax rate cited in the original analysis should not be presented as an existing tax obligation without verifying its scope, final approval, and effective implementation. For investors, the distinction between a proposed parliamentary amendment and an enacted tax law can have significant implications for transaction planning and portfolio management. Institutional Adoption, Artificial Intelligence, and Emerging Infrastructure Institutional adoption is also progressing through regulated investment products. In Switzerland, the Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) announced approval of a retail investment fund that invests directly in Bitcoin, subject to specific custody, risk management, and transparency requirements. The authorization represents a step toward distributing cryptocurrency-related products through traditional financial structures. However, regulatory approval does not eliminate volatility or guarantee protection against losses. In Asia, a collaboration announced between Injective and South Korean institution BDACS aims to advance the integration of KRW1, a stablecoin pegged to the South Korean won. The initiative seeks to facilitate transactions and settlements involving tokenized assets, although its broader impact will depend on technical implementation and applicable regulatory requirements. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly important in financial market oversight. The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has advanced discussions on superintelligence and agentic trading, in which autonomous AI systems execute market transactions. A central challenge is determining how legal responsibility should be assigned when algorithms make financial decisions without direct human intervention. On the technology side, Stellar is preparing its Bell Protocol 30 upgrade, which includes developments related to post-quantum signature verification. Together, these initiatives illustrate how technological innovation requires new security measures and regulatory frameworks. Final Reflection: Innovation Without Guaranteed Returns Crypto Sensei’s analysis raises an essential question about the future of the digital asset ecosystem: cryptocurrency growth will depend not only on capital inflows but also on the ability to build useful, secure, and sustainable infrastructure. Tokenization, stablecoins, and artificial intelligence could expand the possibilities of the financial system, but they also introduce technological, regulatory, and operational risks. The prospect of a crypto supercycle should therefore be understood as a hypothesis shaped by liquidity, demand, and regulatory developments, rather than a certainty. In a market where institutional advances coexist with vulnerable projects, risk management, source verification, and fundamental analysis remain indispensable. Rather than simply anticipating extraordinary gains, the real challenge is identifying which projects can demonstrate lasting value once speculative enthusiasm fades. ⚠️ XLM IS TESTING A CRITICAL SUPPORT ZONE 😅 WILL BUYERS STEP IN? 👀 XLM/USDT is trading near $0.16914, down 4.03%, on the 1-hour chart. The trend is bearish, and RSI readings around 32–34 show weak momentum. A bounce is possible, but buyers still need to prove their strength. 👀 Key levels to watch: 🟢 Support: $0.16630 🔴 Resistance: $0.17410 🎯 Next resistance: $0.17690–$0.17895 📉 Bearish scenario: If $0.16630 breaks decisively, selling pressure could continue toward lower levels. 📈 Recovery scenario: If support holds and price reclaims $0.17100, a move toward $0.17410 becomes possible. 💡 My takeaway: RSI is approaching oversold territory, but that alone isn’t a buy signal. I’d wait for a clear reaction around support and confirmation from price action before taking a position. Manage risk carefully—support can break, even when a bounce looks tempting. $XLM $XLM

$YGG The SEC has been asked by a total of six blockchain organizations to categorize digital commodities as non-securities. Also, they’ve asked the SEC to make the rules for staking and secondary trading clear.  This comes even as the SEC’s comment period ended and two DeFi consultations were opened by the UK’s FCA. Six networks want ‘digital commodity’ embedded into the rules  The advice was contained in a joint letter, signed by Chainlink Labs, the Cardano Foundation, Hedera, Aptos Labs, Ava Labs and the Stellar Development Foundation.  The six organizations are asking for one major thing; they want the SEC to change the digital commodity classification from interpretive guidance to the tenets of the proposed Regulation Crypto Assets framework.  The six organizations want the SEC to make the classification of digital commodities to be as clear as possible. They argue that the lack of clarity means developers and market participants would stay guessing as to whether the securities laws apply to them. Staking and secondary trades top the list of requests  The letter doesn’t just stop at classification of digital commodities. It also asks for clearer rules on how securities law affects secondary-market trades of digital assets, staking, and other activities linked to decentralized networks.  This is not the first time the SEC has been queried. In a joint publication with the CFTC in March, the SEC categorized crypto assets into five groups. The groups are: digital commodities, digital collectibles, digital tools, stablecoins and digital securities.  The document included sections on “protocol mining” and “protocol staking,” as well as the treatment of staking receipt tokens. The six organizations want those ideas to be incorporated into the legal framework, to provide uniform interpretations and avoid confusion.   Wall Street and DeFi groups filed opposing comments The framework proposed by the SEC has drawn over 100 comments in the two months since it was introduced in August. Crypto firms, trade bodies and Wall Street institutions all chimed in with their opinions.  The proposal aims to create an exemption for token offerings when it comes to registration. Startup exemptions would apply to offerings of up to $5 million, while fundraising exemptions cover up to $75 million over 12 months.  The draft drew support from the Hyperliquid Policy Center even though HPC argued for a change in the handling of airdrops. HPC made this claim because it believes a giveaway with no consideration does not qualify to be a securities transaction.  The Alternative Investment Management Association asked for revisions clarifying investors’ legal rights, while the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association focused on the separate five-year “innovation exemption” that became effective in September and opened the door to onchain trading of tokenized stocks.  FCA puts DeFi firms on notice with two consultations The United Kingdom’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has also made regulatory moves, opening two consultations on October 21, 2026.  The first consultation, GC26/7, touches on guidance for regulated firms that make use of decentralized finance, with a particular focus on operational resilience, financial crime and the Money Laundering Regulations.  The second one, CP26/36, places particular attention on recent exclusions from cryptoasset regulation as a result of legislative changes. From the FCA’s standpoint, it does not see the DeFi paper as creating new policy; rather, it sees it as clarifying current rules and regulations. The two consultations are set to expire on November 18, 2026, with a plan for final guidance set for January next year.  The wider regime brought in by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (Cryptoassets) Regulations 2026 takes effect on October 25, 2027; firms could begin applying on September 30, 2026, and have until February 28, 2027, to file.  If you're reading this, you’re already ahead.
